Specialist design features

These custom-made orthopaedic sandals are designed specifically to assist with drop foot, while blending functional biomechanics with a modern style. They offer the high backs are reinforced so the footwear will act and behave as an AFO would, offering you the chance to wear footwear without the need for a brace.

The open toe construction helps to reduce pressure on sensitive areas and allows for better air circulation. The high ankle design gives added control and bracing, helping to maintain dorsiflexion (lifting the foot upward). Within the upper we internally create and provide a firm stiffener that is sculpted high up the back and reinforced with light weight carbon. The stiffener is transitioned and trapped through the heel seat area offering a very firm structure. The multiple buckle straps provide secure support around the ankle and mid foot, which is crucial for stabilising weak or atrophied muscles. Tailored with a rigid midsole that limits mid foot flexion, keeping the foot in a safer position with controlled alignment. We team it with the skilled technique of curving the sole and heel that promotes a natural, rolling gait, compensating for the lack of foot lift due to drop foot. This reduces the risk of injury due to tripping and supports smoother transitions from heel to toe during walking.
