Specialist design features

These strappy dress shoes, designed for formal occasions, were commissioned for a client with high arches and suffering from arthritis in the big toe joints, presenting as a 'forefoot equinus,' which also led to hyper-pronation. While some casual shoes with a soft rocker sole managed to provide relief, she experienced significant discomfort when trying to find evening shoes that did not cause pain after prolonged wear. She was frustrated with the ongoing pain and discomfort associated with wearing off-the-shelf shoes.

When we work with you creating a treatment plan for arthritis, we aim to incorporate a firm hold beneath the foot, cushion under the joints and a rocker motion within the footwear, elevating forward bending of the foot and the big toe joints. For dress shoes, our approach is to discreetly integrate these treatments into the base structures to support the foot and aid the forward gait cycle without sacrificing a polished appearance.
