These natural grained, vegetable-tanned derby shoes with soft cow linings provide long-term comfort, merging formal style with practicality. The bespoke Burtonbrogue detailing through the toe, fronts (vamps) and sides (quarters) offer ventilation, and the 3 tie lace up style warms well towards a classic summer casual. Specialist design features

These particular shoes have been specifically designed for a client with Pes planus known as flat feet. A condition where the longitudinal arch of the foot which is the arch on the inside of the foot, collapses or is absent. It causes pain in the feet, lower legs, knees and back after prolonged walking or standing. These changes in walking patterns or balance were associated with an acquired later in life injury.

He experienced a leg length discrepancy and had been using corrective orthotic insoles, but found them uncomfortably warm. Having specific requirements: the primary need was to keep his feet at a cool temperature while maintaining underfoot firmness to support the corrected position. To meet these needs, a design incorporating firm leather insoles with corrective arch support, effective ventilation, secure lace hold, and rubber soles was developed. This included collaborating with him on his unique perforation punch design.
